About

Solby Lim (she/her).

Hello! Thank you for visiting my working digital portfolio. My name is Solby Lim 임솔비, and I am a Korean American writer + researcher. I was born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised as a third culture kid, having grown up in Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi, and Shanghai.

Some of my experiences and passions include: crafting exciting digital and editorial content, communications management, copywriting, UX writing, multimedia project-making, print + digital archival research, archiving practices, creative storytelling work, and visual and cultural history.

Currently, I call New York and Boston my homes; I graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University in May 2022 with a bachelor’s in History and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. My thesis, titled “Revolutionary Intimacies: Radical Transnationalism and Gender Politics in Cultural Production, North Korea and the US, 1960-70,” earned departmental honors in both History and Women’s, Gender, and Sexualities Studies. Currently, I am a graduate student at Columbia University’s Oral History Master of Arts program.
